Shackleton Explorer Scout Unit came together last night for our annual Awards and DofE Report Back Evening, celebrating the achievements and adventures of our Explorers over the past year.
The evening began with presentations from our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Bronze, Silver, and Gold groups, who shared stories, photos, and memories from their expedition experiences. From challenging weather to teamwork and campfire laughs, it was inspiring to hear how each group developed resilience and leadership through their journeys.
We were also delighted to recognise a number of significant achievements within the Unit:
- 🥇 9 Explorers were presented with their Chief Scout’s Platinum Award
- 💎 1 Explorer achieved the Chief Scout’s Diamond Award
- 🧭 4 Explorers received their Young Leader Belt Buckles for their dedicated service and leadership within local Scout sections
Each award represents many hours of commitment, learning, and service. Well done to all our awardees!
The evening also featured a special talk from Allen, who shared his experiences from The Moot, an international Scouting event bringing together young people from across the world. His talk highlighted the exciting global opportunities that await Explorers beyond the Unit, inspiring many to consider taking their Scouting journey further.
A huge thank you goes to all our leaders, parents, and volunteers for their continued support and, of course, to our Explorers for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and achievements throughout the year.
Congratulations to everyone on a fantastic year of Scouting adventures!
